M-STEP, PSAT & NWEA testing
NWEA testing happens three time each year and is information that guides our teachers for student learning. The outline of the schedule is:
Fall - first few weeks of school
Winter - during the month of January
Spring - typically during April and May (the opposite month of when they take the M-STEP)
M-STEP testing is the State Summative Assessment for 3rd through 8th grade. Students take the tests in the spring of each year. The state gives us a 4 week testing window to complete the tests.
4th grade (Math, ELA)
5th grade (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies)
6th grade (Math, ELA)
7th grade (Math, ELA)
8th grade (Science and Social Studies)
PSAT and SAT are the tests the State of Michigan uses as the summative assessment for 8th grade through 11th grade. Our 8th graders take the PSAT 8/9. This test has replaced the Math and ELA portions of the 8th grade M-STEP. 8th grade students take the PSAT all on one day in April. Below are links to resources for parents about the M-STEP and PSAT

Xello
7th and 8th grade students will be working on Xello in their Social Studies classes during the winter months. Students can access their Educational Development Plans (EDPs) at anytime through the website.

Smart test takers begin reviewing early!
1. Look over your notes and worksheets
2. Review your previous tests and quizzes and especially focus on making sure you've re-learned anything you may have missed the first time
3. Use strategies that fit your learning style
4. Review a little each day - this keeps the information fresh in your mind and you don't get stressed from trying to cram it all in your brain last minute
