Bachelors of Education
Elementary Certification
(English/Speech major with minor in Elementary Education)
Madonna University
I started teaching in 1995.
I decided to become an educator in the 7th grade after having the most wonderful teacher, Ms. Brown. I decided then that I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and to make education a positive, fun, and engaging learning experience.
Outside of the Classroom:
In addition to my teaching duties I am involved in athletics as the JV Volleyball Head Coach for Richmond. I am a Lee Lego Club Co-Facilitator and I am also the facilitator the Jr. Robotics Team at Will L. Lee Elementary and a mentor for the FLL Robotics Team for the middle school (grades 4 & 5). I also participate in many PTO events and have taught in after school programs as well as tutoring after school.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to read, coach volleyball, and go running. I am the proud parent of 11th grade twins, Aidan and Olivia, and my step-daughter Lindsey. I love watching them participate in school events and extra-curricular activities. I have a dog named Duke, who keep us busy. We enjoy camping and outdoor activities. The best part about teaching is making learning fun and engaging.
