Education Experience:
Bachelor of Science- Elementary Education- Teaching Certificate
Oakland University, Class of 2015

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 1st grade.  I was lucky enough to have an enthusiastic, caring teacher who made me love coming to school every day.  I continued having amazing teachers throughout my educational journey and knew I wanted to pay it forward and inspire students like my teachers have inspired me.

Outside of the Classroom:
In addition to my teaching duties I am involved with Builder's Club, School Improvement Team, and SHINE committee.

Outside of Richmond Middle School, I am involved in an international service organization called Kiwanis, which is a community service organization dedicated to helping children.  Besides teaching, community service is my biggest passion and I love volunteering whenever I have the chance.

I am a HUGE Detroit Tigers fan and have not missed an opening day in over 5 years!  In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and two pet cats.  I consider myself a "nerd" and LOVE all things Harry Potter, Disney, and Marvel.  I enjoy reading, playing board games, and playing video games with my friends and also have been playing softball for over 20 years.

I grew up in Shelby Township, Michigan and graduated from Eisenhower High School where I played the tuba in the marching band.  While at Oakland for my bachelors degree I played  the sousaphone in the Golden Grizzly Athletics band, was the president of our school's Circle K (a branch of Kiwanis), and completed over 500 hours of community service.  After graduating, I spent the next four years taking on various long term substitute positions teaching mathematics and English Language Arts in Warren Consolidated Schools and Chippewa Valley Schools before coming to Richmond this year.  I feel honored to be a part of the Blue Devil community and am looking forward to an exciting school year!
